Keep the ball low, and pitch outside/inside. Don’t worry about changing speeds (your circle change may just be a very slow & hittable fastball). Pitch inside, to make them hit the ball on the thinner side of the bat — and outside to make them hit off the end, and lunge. If kids like to hit, they probably can hit. You have to make them swing awkwardly, somehow. Watch MLB baseball games tonight — and watch what pitchers are doing, with the hitters strategy-wise.
If you are not a power pitcher why would you want to try and be one now. I coach a travel baseball team and I preach to our pitchers to go out and do what they do. Our most effective pitcher throws a great curveball and he gets a lot of groundballs with it. Why throw 4 or 5 pitches to try and strike someone out when you can do it with one and get a groundball and pitch much deeper in the game because you havent thrown as many pitches. Good luck tomorrow and just be you.
make them prove they can hit the fastball first. then mix in some off-speed pitches. you don’t want to show all your pitches early because 2nd time around they will know what you throw. stick to the heat, working both sides of the plate.
did i just read that entire question and only see one period? anyway, whatever pitch you throw, keep it down in the zone. if you have a good fastball, you can throw it at eye level as an out pictch.
you wanna be hitting the corners a lot. get them shaken up. throw a fastball inside then throw a curve at them, they’ll back away every time. if they can hit your fastball well mix in your change. if you get ground balls… thats good don’t worry about overpowering them if you can’t
