Ideas for healthy dinner and snacks on the run during youth baseball season?
Does anyone have any ideas for healthy dinners and snacks on the run during youth baseball season?
I work full time outside of the home and my husband is between jobs but actively looking. During the day he is looking for jobs, interviewing, etc. My husband coaches our 10 year old son’s baseball team and I am the scorekeeper. By the time we pick up our son from school at about 3:30 pm, give him a snack and have him start his homework, it’s time to go to the games or practice. We have 2 games a week and 2 practices a week. Usually, we don’t get home until after 8pm.
Unfortunately, we all tend to snack on things that are availble during the game (chips, etc.) and when we arrive home, it’s late and hard to think of healthy things that would be quick, easy and tasty enough for a 10 year old.
Any ideas that you have (recipes, websites, practical tips) would be most appreciated.

You can make fresh steamed veggies in the microwave now. I love steamed green beans, summer squash, zuchhini & brocholli.
this is how it goes:
first you boil 3 stalks of broccoli, then you add just a little butter, some sesame seeds, and peanut butter. stir well, add baby kittens, it’s really yummy and healthy
I like the green giant teriyaki stir-fry packages you find in the freezer section. You just add chicken and follow the easy instructions. Very fast. I know many people don’t like microwave meals. I’m not crazy about it. I have it rarely for those really lazy evenings. I think Healthy Choice makes pretty good little meals, flavor-wise. Fajitas by Ortega are good too.
